Learn. Test. Investigate. Document.

Privacy Skill Vault

Privacy Skill Vault is a personal technical knowledge base built from the things I learn, test, investigate, troubleshoot, and document over time.

It is not intended to be a definitive cybersecurity reference, and it is not presented as one.

The goal is to keep useful technical notes, document findings and problem-solving, and create a record of things that are worth revisiting.

SIMULATED SECURITY EVENT MONITOR

Why I built this

I use it to keep the things I find useful, along with the notes, findings, examples, and lessons that I want to be able to come back to later.

I come across useful things while working, troubleshooting, testing tools, reading documentation, researching, or simply trying to understand how something works.

The difficult part is remembering all of it. Something can make perfect sense when I read it, only to become difficult to find or remember later. Different sources can also explain the same topic differently, and what works in one environment may not always work in another.

Some of the content comes from things I have worked with directly. Other parts come from research, documentation, experiments, investigations, or information gathered from different sources.

The goal is not to present everything here as something I discovered myself. It is simply a place to keep what I learn, document useful findings, and make them easier to understand and refer back to.

What You'll Find Here

Privacy Skill Vault brings together the things I learn, investigate, test, and find useful across cybersecurity and technology.

Investigations

Real-world security investigations and technical problems that require more than a quick fix.

These pages document the problem, what was investigated, the evidence and observations along the way, and the findings where they can be established.

Labs & Testing

Hands-on work exploring security technologies, configurations, attack techniques, and defensive approaches.

The labs cover both offensive and defensive security, with practical testing used to understand how things actually behave rather than relying only on theory.

Tools

A collection of security tools and practical utilities that are useful for investigation, analysis, testing, and day-to-day security work.

Where possible, the focus is on what a tool does, how it can be used, and what its results actually tell you.

Learning

Practical learning material covering areas such as SOC operations, penetration testing, cyber fraud, security concepts, and the technologies behind them.

The aim is to turn useful information into something that is easier to understand, practice, and return to later.

Blog

A place for security research, observations, technical write-ups, and topics that are worth exploring in more detail.

Not every post is meant to be a definitive answer. Some are simply the result of looking into a question and documenting what was found.

Findings & Lessons

Small details, unexpected behaviour, mistakes, limitations, and useful observations that are easy to overlook but worth remembering.

Sometimes the most useful outcome is not a major discovery, but simply understanding why something happened or correcting an assumption.

Latest Investigations & Lab Reports

Explore recent breakdowns of alert investigations, detection engineering notes, and security lab guides.

START EXPLORING

There is no particular order to follow.

You can start with an investigation, browse through the technical notes, explore privacy and security topics, or simply see what has been added recently.

If you find something useful, use it. If something doesn't look right, question it. And if something here gives you a useful starting point for your own investigation, then it is serving its purpose.
